Thank You & Goodbye

Well folks, 2020 is a wrap for this songbird.

What. A. Year.

My family and I moved to Nashville where we have truly discovered a place that is close to perfect for us. My husband, Jeff, has experienced shocking growth to his business here and my son, Jacob, has started working at his first ever job. He managed to successfully pass the first half of 11th grade while working part-time, so he will be learning to drive next semester! Our daughter, Emma, moved into her first place back home in Colorado and she is excelling at work, where she was recently promoted after receiving her new QMAP creds. Even our doggo, Shakira, seems to be thriving in her new environment - she caught her first rabbit. And I, well...

Jennifer Lauren and her band LIVE at Fat Kat Slims, November 13th, 2020.

I found my "home" venue, Fat Kat Slims, and performed two shows there; accompanied by some of the finest players I've ever had the opportunity to work with. Some of you may recognize my long time guitar player, Ben Sailors, over there on the right. He actually moved to Nashville before we did and it's been a JOY to be musically reunited. We have two more shows scheduled at Fat Kat Slims, in January and February of 2021. If you're going to be in town, we'd love to see ya there! I'll be sending out all the details after the holidays, so... you know, stay tuned.

Speaking of Mr. Ben Sailors, we worked together to produce and record my debut single, 'I Like Your Jeans', which was released for worldwide distribution on October 1st, 2020. The song went further than we expected and was picked up by multiple music media outlets, including garnering this awesome review from BuzzMusic

'I Like Your Jeans' had it's radio debut on Saturday, November 14th, thanks to Roots Radio WMOT 89.5FM. This is, by itself, a dream come true for me! I never believed I could write and perform a song that would actually be played on the radio. I'm so thankful to Ana Lee for picking it up and making one of my biggest musical dreams come true.

Finally, this song has brought me the opportunity to interview with award winning author, Sammy Stein, the writer of the book 'Women in Jazz' that was recently awarded Best Music Book of 2020 by Phacemag, for her new book about independent female musicians in the blues, jazz, roots space and their experience surviving the devastation of 2020 to the music industry. I am THRILLED to have been interviewed and I have my fingers crossed that I will make the cut for the final copy. Pray for me!

This song isn't done yet though. It is now being submitted for sync licensing so it can be placed in a podcast and is also being submitted for consideration for placement in a commercial for... you guessed it... JEANS! My goal is to get it placed in a TV show or movie - so don't stop praying yet. This one may need ALL the gods.

As this year draws to a close, I need to express my deep gratitude to those who have supported this big 'ole dream of mine. My family and I stand in utter appreciation for the many supportive friends and family that helped us build our life together in Colorado, move away, and find what we were looking for in Tennessee. Thank you from the very bottom of the cockles of our hearts. We wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas... blah blah blah... AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Now, it's time to focus on creating new music and content, which I can't wait to start sharing with all of you. Make sure you're following my social media channels: YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok!

New releases will stream on Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, and ReverbNation.
